About Invest
The INA has adopted the Invest Program as a charity of choice. Invest is a unique national program that educates high school and community college students on insurance, financial services and risk management topics, and encourages them to pursue a variety of careers in the insurance industry.
Invest provides comprehensive, educational materials and tools necessary to launch an Invest insurance education program in schools across the country. These interactive materials created to appeal to young people include an online e-book, lesson plans, textbooks and activities. Best of all, the resources are free thanks to the generous support of partner companies and independent insurance agents.
Invest is committed to the insurance industry and continuing education. Each year, scholarships are offered to high school seniors and college students currently participating in the Invest program to pursue insurance related education or careers. 100% of scholarship funds go to students.
In 2023, $30,000 in scholarships was awarded to five Invest graduates looking to pursue higher education in insurance and financial services or to assist with licensing fees.
Get Involved
More talent is a need echoed across the country by many in the insurance industry, but not everyone is listening. There is considerable room for growth with the Invest program nationally but we need your help!
You can get involved by volunteering in the classroom, offering an internship or contributing financially. If your school district or city doesn’t have an Invest program, take the first step and find out how you can help get one started.
Invest connects insurance professionals with teachers as part of a unique insurance and business curriculum for students. Volunteers visit the classroom to teach students about insurance and share their real-life experiences and passion for their exciting and rewarding career. The commitment level of a volunteer is determined by you and the teacher. You may speak once a semester to students in the classroom, work with the teacher to help plan the schedule or host a job shadow day. By volunteering in the classroom, you have an opportunity to gain highly qualified employees.
Invest supplies volunteers with the tools needed to:
- Start an Invest program
- Assist teachers with planning an Invest calendar
- Provide a field trip or job shadow day in your office
- Launch an internship program
- Guest speak to students about insurance
- Donate to Invest with funds being used in the classroom or for scholarships
- Gain highly qualified employees – Invest graduates
Find a school near you or contact us to develop a new program. If you do not see an existing program near you, we can work together to start one at a local school.
